The rumored 4-team-trade deal, as ESPN.com reported earlier Friday, would also involve Utah’s veteran forward Andre Kirilenko, Charlotte’s Boris Diaw and Net’s No.3 draft pick Derrick Favors as well as future first round draft picks.
The Net’s new head coach Avery Johnson has however discredited the rumors saying that they are not offering Derrick Favor’s in exchange for Anthony.
“If you don’t hear me say anything about you then it’s not accurate,” Johnson said.
But should the deal pushes through, the Nets would ship former All-Star point guard Devin Harris to the Bobcats (who already lost their starting PG, Raymond Felton, to NY Knicks), while Boris Diaw will be sent to the Jazz, and Andrei Kirlenko to the Nuggets.
If completed, the Nets might have the core of Anthony, Brook Lopez, and high-flying sophomore Terrence Williams. Rumors of Carmelo Anthony being traded has been prevalent ever since Lebron James’ highly anticipated “Decision” to leave Cleveland and form Miami’s powerhouse cast with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
