Falcon running back Michael Turner suffered a groin injury in the 41-7 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at the Georgia Dome.
He finished with 75 yards on nine carries. He was cleared to return to the game, but the Falcons elected to let him rest.
“I don’t think it was significant,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said of Turner’s injury. “He was talking about going back in to the ball game. He was cleared to go back in. I don’t think it’s going to be anything significant. But I have yet to talk to the trainers. I have not had my post-game meeting with the trainers.”
After Turner went down, Jason Snelling picked up the slack. He rushed for 129 yards on 24 carries. He also caught five passes for 57 yards. He had two touchdowns rushing and one receiving.
