Mallett is the star Quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, and he is a rising contender who is expected to be one to watch this college football season. With 15 seconds left in the Arkansas-Georgia game, Mallett threw a remarkable 40-yard pass to Greg Childs in order to secure the win for this No. 12 seed team. Malletts high-quality performance in this game has now secured him a spot in the running for the Heisman Trophy. In total, he threw 380 yards of completed passes in this game with no picks, helping his team score 3 touchdowns for a final score of 31-24. For the trophy, Mallett is competing against Denard Robinson of Michigan and several other players, but Robinson is the one he needs to watch out for. NFL predictions are all leaning towards Mallet as the top contender for this year’s Heisman, and his pass to Childs secured these predictions. Next week Mallett will be facing the No. 1 seed team, Alabama. This will be an important game for him if he wants to win the trophy.
