MTV host TJ Lavin in critical condition after accident

Extreme BMX biker and TV host of MTV's "The Challenge" TJ Lavin is in critical condition after his bike crash, reports TMZ.
The accident happened Thursday night at the Dew Tour Event in Las Vegas.
During the second set of the course, Lavin lost control after failing to complete one of his stunts. His feet didn't reach the bike's pedals and launched him through the air, knocking him unconscious. When friends and crew approached him, they found Lavin unresponsive and motionless.
A native of Sin City, Lavin has long been a champion competitor in the BMX community, snagging one silver and two gold medals in the X Games.
TMZ reports that the 33 year-old Lavin was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors decided to medically induce him into a coma in order to reduce the swelling of his brain. Other injuries he sustained were broken ribs and a shattered wrist.
Lavin is also an avid musician, teaching himself how to play piano. He also released his own album called "LAVS the First SET." He also appeared on the song "Never Gonna Hold Me Down" with Johnny Richter on the Sub Noize Souljaz album, on the song "Watcha Want" on the album "Random Stuff" by Suburban Noize recording artist Big B, and on the Tsunami Bros. album "King Harbor" in a song titled "The Crab Shack Special".
While Lavin has stayed true to his BMX career path, millions have come to know the charismatic personality through 10 seasons of MTV's "Challenge."
"The Challenge" is an extreme reality television game show using cast members from "The Real World" and the now cancelled series, "Road Rules."
