NYC Marathon is 40 this years & NYDN

The New York City Marathon turned 40 this year. And the New York Daily News has photographed nearly each of its historic years, from the early days when the race was run entirely in Central Park to the historic first year it spanned the five boroughs all the way up to its current incarnation as an international celebration that draws tens of thousands of runners from across the globe.
