University of Texas gunman identified as 19-year-old math major


Authorities have identified the University of Texas gunman who opened fire with an AK-47 assault rifle before killing himself as Colton Tooley, a 19-year-old sophomore math major.
Tooley lived in South Austin, the local Statesman reports, citing public records. The paper says the house is a crime scene, with police coming and going.
Police said Tooley, who acted alone, fired his automatic weapon on the sixth floor of the Perry-Castaneda Library, then shot himself. No one else was hurt.
